Sound Design for Experimental Short Film

No Mercy in Mexico is an experimental short film by director Oscar Asan, selected for three major international festivals: Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur (Switzerland), Krakow International Film Festival (Poland), and Odesa International Film Festival (Ukraine).

The film called for an approach where sound wasn't illustrative but conceptual. The central question was: how does mass media shape the way we perceive violence? The sound design was built around that idea. News broadcasts, radio interference, and analog textures layered to create a ghostly, almost spectral atmosphere where nothing feels quite real, because in media, it rarely is.

Rather than supporting the image, the sound here interrogates it.
